Hi, I'm Holly! I'm a self-taught home baker excited to share my love of making delicious things with the community. I first started baking naturally-leavened (usually called "sourdough") breads in 2008 and was surprised and delighted by how tasty and not very sour it was! In all of my baking, taste and enjoyment are the top priorities. To achieve this, I use high-quality ingredients: all organic flours; Belgian chocolate; European butter for laminated pastries and good Midwestern butter for cookies; vanilla, salt, and spices from Penzey's or The Spice House; etc.
Aside from baking, my husband and I are raising two children whom we initially met through the organization Safe Families for Children, which does wonderful things helping families in crisis. I also enjoy running and have completed three marathons, love reading literary fiction, and try to soak in the sun as much as possible.
